Our Services
Telehealth
Telehealth therapy services are offered through a HIPAA compliant service. All necessary documents and the electronic helth record are provided through a secure 3rd party administrator which allows for electronic document signing and client access through the “client portal”. With the client portal, you can add/edit payment methods, include insurance information, receive and sign documents, view invoices, and when enabled schedule your own appointments.
Exposure and Ritual Prevention Therapy
Exposure and Response Prevention (ExRP) is the leading treatment for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). ExRP exposes individuals to obsession-triggering situations while preventing compulsive responses, aiming to free them from the grip of obsessions and compulsions. Key to ExRP is Response Prevention, where refraining from immediate compulsions helps individuals tolerate obsessions, reducing their debilitating impact over time. ExRP sessions are 90-minutes long, weekly, for 8-15 weeks.
Prolonged Exposure Therapy
Prolonged Exposure Therapy is currently considered a “gold standard” therapy in the treatment of PTSD. The therapy is only 8-15 weeks long so results are seen sooner than in other therapies. PE works effectively regardless of gender/gender expression, race, type of trauma, or length of time since the traumatic event(s). PE has 30 years of research backing it and is one of only a few therapies endorsed by the Veterans Administration for the effective treatment of PTSD. Because PE is a specialized therapy and sessions range from 60 to 90 minutes, it is offered only as a self-pay option and spaces are limited. If you would like to see if PE could be right for you, please contact Katherine Illgen.
Therapy Intensives
What happens when you’ve been working with your therapist for a while but feel like you need “something more” to make the progress you want? What about when you have a short time until you have to do something that your anxiety or trauma response won’t let you do? Or even if you have a serious issue but can’t commit to weekly therapy due to your schedule or an upcoming move?
Three very different dilemmas with one easy answer: therapy intensives.
Therapy intensives are concentrated, extended therapy sessions, often spanning several hours or days. They provide a focused and immersive environment for individuals to delve deeply into their issues and make significant progress in a shorter timeframe. People choose therapy intensives to accelerate their healing process, gain rapid insights, and address pressing concerns more comprehensively. The GALAP Volunteer
In 2022, Katherine Illgen signed the provider pledge with GALAP.
“GALAP is a grassroots, volunteer project that aims to increase access to free letters for gender-affirming medical care”.
Primary Therapist gender affirming surgery letters can be requested by active clients and secondary letters are available as appropriate to non-active clients of MWC when referred from GALAP. Client letters are only available in states in which Katherine is licensed at the time. Katherine uses the Gender ASSET assessment and follows all WPATH SoC v8 recommendations. Feel free to reach out with questions. You can find more information about the GALAP initiative HERE.
